As of June 2004, the unemployment rate in New York City
was a steep 7.4%, according to the Bureau of Labor
Statistics. Meanwhile, New York still remains one of the
most expensive cities in terms of the cost of living and
housing affordability. But as they say, if you can make
it there, you'll make it anywhere.
